Affinity Art Gallery is a Modern and Contemporary Art gallery located in Victoria Island, Lagos. Nigeria busiest and most inspirational city. We represent Modern and Contemporary artist from Nigeria and all over the continent of Africa who are bustling with life and creativity, passionately telling African stories and narratives through their works.

The Gallery Manager will be responsible for efficient and effective running of the operations of the gallery. This role includes overseeing vital administrative tasks and work plans, facilitating and coordinating exhibitions and events, supporting and implementing marketing, communication, and development initiatives, and managing the Artist Development program. We are looking for someone with the right mix of art knowledge, business skills and use of technology.

Art knowledge: The person must have an eye for high-quality art, notice the unseen details which contributes to the cultural value and understand the insights of the artwork, which will help plan, organise the acquisition, storage, and exhibition of collections and related materials, including the selection of exhibition themes and designs, and develop or install exhibit materials.

Business Skills: The ideal candidate must have the ability to read a room, have a flexible and practical approach to work.An excellent organisational capability and confidence to deal with a range of people. Strong written and excellent oral skills, Bilingual in French and English. Build and develop a sales pipeline and mutually beneficial network relationships with Artists, Corporations, collectors, and Individuals.

Use of Technology: Must have basic IT skills such as social media management, use Microsoft office on either Apple or Windows, CRM. It would be pleasant to use software like Canva, graphics software like Adobe and minimal website refreshes or updates.

This role will be reporting directly to the Executive Director and managing project-specific staff members.

The tasks involved breaks down into three broad categories, which is not exhaustive, and the Gallery operations lead will submit a weekly status update report. The successful candidate will receive more details about the tasks involved.

Artist Development Program: Our Artist development program implements a pipeline that allows us to identify the gifted artists across Africa or outside Africa of African Heritage with whom we can work with.

Business Development: The genius of the artists we work with blows us away. Hence, we need a network of mutually beneficial partnerships and colloborations to thrive and support the ecosystem.

Gallery: Position the physical space to be in excellent condition and maximise its direct and indirect sources of revenue. Help nurture the potentials of associates and team members who work at the gallery.

Education and Work Experience
Strong academic or art background (BFA or BA in Art History required; MA or MFA preferred).
Experience working in a contemporary art gallery, museum, or similar environment is required.
Business management experience is also required.

Detailed, Intelligent, pleasant and has a good head on shoulders.
Respectful, Self-driven, Warm.
Must be extremely detail-oriented, organized and confident with managing projects, and excellent with taking initiative and following through.
Must demonstrate an ability to work well independently, as well as cooperatively, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Others Have Valid driving licenses and can actually drive.
