Affinity Art Gallery Appoints Ms Naomi E.

Affinity Art Gallery, Lagos, is pleased to announce the appointment of Naomi Edobor as the Curator and manager of the gallery.

Naomi Edobor (b. 1993) is a cultural worker and Curator based in Lagos, Nigeria. Her work consists of creating programs for emerging artists, curating exhibitions, installations, and experiences as it relates to art for advocacy and self-expression.

Ms. Naomi’s background and interests make her uniquely equipped to contribute to the growth and development of the gallery.  Her underlying goal is to amplify the voices of emerging artists and creatives of African descent both in the continent and in the diaspora.

“My interest has always been to work in a gallery or a museum, ensuring and enabling a well-structured plan for artists is in place and they are rightly represented. I want to curate more exhibitions and impact more people with my work and AAG presents that opportunity for me.” -Naomi Edobor

Naomi was one of twenty cultural workers from Africa who participated at the Musée d’Art Contemporain Africain Al Maaden (MACAAL) Bootcamp, held in Marrakech, January 2020. She is also part of the Agenda, Paris 30 under 30 fellows (2020), a collective of young professionals in the cultural sector with diverse backgrounds, who are leading and contributing to their cultural sectors around the globe.

“The Board is thrilled to have Naomi join AAG, we are very pleased with this decision and excited for the projects we will be working on,” said Olugbemiro Arinoso, founder of the gallery.
